Change Isn’t Just For Bums and Laundromats
I believe change can be good when I’m the one to initiate it done with thought and foresight. Around The Bitch Blog, I’ve been contemplating some changes that might make this site more of what I want it to be. And since a new year is right around the corner, it’s the perfect opportunity for me to adjust some things around here:
Not “Just” Anything
Last night, a super cool Bitch I know had to put her cat down. It was really sad because he’d been sick for a few weeks on and off. He’d finally started to look better and she was hopeful it was just a food problem. Then he stopped breathing one night and the emergency vet said his respiratory system just shut down. As I write this, she’s gathering some his favorite things and going to bury him near the lake where she lives. It was her first pet and he’s seen her through a battle with ovarian cancer, lupus and a frequently deployed husband. She devastated, of course, even if some people think it’s too much for “just” a cat.
I sent texts back and forth with her last night and this morning but honestly I knew whatever I had to say was bullshit. Well, maybe not bullshit in the normal sense but bullshit in the fact that it wouldn’t make her feel better. Nothing but her cat coming back would do that and that’s not one of my super powers.

Hey remember that time I talked about creating a book of anecdotes about boobs for charity? Yeah, well I did it, with a little help from my friends. If you have a moment, check out the Boob Stories website, Facebook page or Twitter stream for information about the project and updates.
Boobs. (I just wanted to say it again.)

Some Bitchy Fun with Someecards
Whenever I get a little annoyed with life like I have been the last few days, I head over to Someecards to browse the bitchiness that is their catalog. In case you’re not familiar with the site, it has free ecards with funny sayings on them. These are my current favorites:
Finally, somebody tells the truth during a breakup! If I ever experience another breakup (knock on wood I don’t, though) this is what I’m using:
I hate people that ask me if they look fat. Nobody who doesn’t look fat ever asks that question. And I’m not in the business of lying to people. So I usually just pretend like I didn’t hear them and then fake a reason to leave. No reason to hurt people if you don’t have to, right?
And this last one is my favorite because I don’t know anyone I love all day every day. Everyone gets on my nerves every now and again. Even the love of my life. Even my dog. Even myself.
