So as many of you know, I’ve written a book. It’s called The Bitch’s Guide to Love and if you look to your right, it’s that little book thing in the sidebar. Yeah, that one.
Initially there were some delays in the publishing process–which are completely normal–but the book was ready for print in December. I’ve just been sitting on it because something wasn’t right. I know what you’re thinking: This bitch is crazy.
Today marks three weeks that my husband has been out of state. We live in Chicago and he’s in New York working for a temporary but indefinite amount of time. This isn’t the first time we’ve been apart for work or personal reasons. At one point in our marriage, we were away from each other for nearly six months. People are always shoked that we can be apart and stay happily married. I always tell them that we’re actually really married, not fake married. Which means that we can stay in love across state lines. Our relationship continues even if he leaves the zip code.
I’m gonna be honest with you guys: I don’t feel like writing a post today. It happens to the best of us. But I do feel like listening to Ceelo’s new song “Fuck You” again. This song is a lot like The Bitch Blog and The Bitch’s Guide to Love. It’s fun, it’s upbeat and it’s honest. Oh, and it’s riddled with curse words.
Bottom line? Sometimes, when things go bad in a relationship, you just have to say fuck you and move on with your life. So if you haven’t seen this video, (where have you been?) watch it and smile. And for those of you who have seen it, watch it for the millionth time and you smile too.
Like most writers, I take what I write from my life. And when I’m writing about love, relationships or men, I draw from my own experience. Which of course includes my husband.
My fellow BlackBelle author (and good friend) Cassandra Gardner just launched her website www.frugalosopher.com. It’s a tribute to the art of making a dollar out of fifteen cents, a topic she talks about at length in her upcoming book, Frugalosophy.
Head over to the site and make sure you tell them Ms. Bitch sent you.
Congrats girl! You’ll receive an email from us in a bit asking for your details so we can send you your prizes. But you can start bragging about your title now. :-)
