Was this a real letter? Goodness gracious. I have a feeling this was written by a teenager or a young adult who still thinks a lot about high school. The advice is great because it does bring up the bigger issue of us women think men should read our minds. "You should know what I need." And when they don't we get bitchy (I know I'm using bitch in a not flattering context but bitchy is the best work in this context). Here's what I say: Speak up, Bitch. And if he still doesn't understand or care then dump his ass.

Your lawn care program should be tailored to local conditions - the amount of rainfall you get, for example, and the type of soil you have.

What a refreshing way to look at it. Maybe this reader's garden isn't full of weeds. Maybe she's just not looking at it the right way.

I love this mushy, especially from someone who has 25 collective years of marriage under her belt. It's work but it's a labor of love.

Your insight amazes me. For someone who has been married twice, that's 25 years collectively, I'm obviously at some level a romantic. But then when you get into it, deep, you realize romance is going to take you so far (I'm convinced this is the point people usually go out and have affairs, etc.). Here's to hard work for something that is so worth it (Hold on, I'm going to get mushy) to be married, committed to my best friend who I love, yes I love him. This is where I need to stop before anymore cliches escape.

Her life can't be perfect because no one's is. I hope the reader realizes that, like you pointed out, I'm sure that her cousin has things she wants to change, too.

Brilliant! You're so right about the grass. Wherever you go, there you are. If the cousin truly has it all, it means she has been working her tail off to make it so. My suggestion is start watering, fertilizing and trimming.
