Where I Was When I Wasn’t Here Bitching (Week of 8/27/2010)

It may interest you to know that I don’t spend all my time writing bitchy things here on The Bitch Blog. I also do other very interesting things like eat, sleep and watch trash TV. But one of the things I also do is check out interesting links on the Internet. Here are my favorite links of the week and why you should click them.
. . .The Sassy Curmudgeon: The Best Part of Waking Up… Is Not Being Dead because it contains a marriage tip we all need.
. . . Met Another Frog: The Conversion because we’ve all had that moment when we were sure that we fucked up ex for life.
. . . The Lost Plum: Take a Look because I’ve been asked to look at penises but never in such a hilarious matter.
. . . Dating After 40, Okay Hoping to Date After 40: Internet Dating—The “Mute” Button because who hasn’t been on a date with a seemingly normal person only to find out that they are secretly a mime.
. . . The Bloggess: Updated. You would see the biggest gift would be from me and the card attached would say “Thank you for helping me dig up my dead dog” because that was excellent use of a Golden Girl’s reference and anybody that doesn’t sympathize when your dog dies is sociopath.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
